Jon Rosen is a writer, journalist, and international affairs professional with an interest in the developing world, particularly sub-Saharan Africa.
Jon made his first trip to the region in 2004 to teach at a high school in rural Kenya and has since worked as a magazine editor in Zanzibar and freelancer based in Kigali, Rwanda. From the Swahili Coast to eastern Congo, Jon has reported for outlets in the US, Europe, and Africa including GlobalPost, World Politics Review, BBC Focus on Africa Magazine, USA Today, the Boston Globe, the International Relations and Security Network (ISN), and the Washington Diplomat. His work includes features, book reviews, and in-depth analyses covering domestic and international politics, economic growth and development, natural resources and the environment, travel, sports, and culture.
A native of Amherst, MA, Jon also works as an independent consultant for Eurasia Group, the international political risk research and consulting firm. He is a graduate of Tufts University in Medford, MA, and the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Bologna, Italy and Washington, DC.
